Table dance, is typically an erotic dance performed at (or on) a patron's table, as opposed to on a stage.  In some cases a table dance is performed on a small portable platform the dancer takes around to patrons' tables.

 

Table dance allows the patron a better view and more intimate contact with the strippers, but usually without touching. This kind of dance is the usual offer in most strip clubs, but the patron is  most often charged extra for it. 

 

One variation of this is a bartop dance, in which a stripper dances on top of the bar, for the patrons who sit there.
